The Galician Marine Science Program is part of the Joint Program in Marine Sciences in which the Autonomous Communities of Galicia, Andalucia, Cantabria, Region of Murcia and Valencia collaborate to deploy a joint strategy for research and innovation in marine sciences to address in a sustainable way the new challenges in the monitoring and observation of the marine environment, climate change, aquaculture and other sectors of the blue economy. Marine Sciences is one of the eight programs defined in the Complementary Plans between the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Autonomous Regions, to create synergies, align the execution of funds and establish common priorities. The Complementary Plans are Investment 1 of Component 17 of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism of the Next GenerationresponEU funds.

The Database Laboratory is responsible for Action 4.3 Marine Services and Virtual Laboratory.  In this action a virtual laboratory will be set up to perform different tasks relating data of different nature in an integrated platform. Likewise, support will be provided with the data sets in the integrated platform to the marine services identified in other work packages.
