Diego Seco received his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of A Coruña in 2006 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the same university in 2009. His research interests include geographic information retrieval, geographic information systems, and compressed structures and algorithms for textual and geographic data. He taught in the UDC between 2008 and 2013, when he moved to Chile being a  professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, University of Concepción (Chile) from 2013 to 2021 (associate professor since 2016). Since Jan 2022, he is professor at the UDC.
