Description:
The project "CO3 - Active cosmetics against coronavirus, long-term solutions" aims to offer a virucidal solution valid for SARS-CoV-2, as well as for the next coronavirus that will emerge in future years. For this reason and with the aim of developing new tools to facilitate asepsis and thereby reduce the chances of contagion, the project aims to develop a range of hand and facial cosmetic products with virucidal capacity, all from ingredients that, far from being harmful to the skin, such as the usual hydroalcoholic gels, which have spread over the last year, serve as a protective agent.
The specific objectives that have been set at the time of undertaking this project are:
- To achieve a natural extract of plant origin that is active and effective against coronavirus.
- To validate the effectiveness of the developed extract and to ensure its harmlessness to the skin.
- To integrate the extract(s) in different cosmetic bases in order to generate a range of products intended for hand and face protection.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of the extract and the developed products against future variants or new coronavirus.
