This project was developed by the Database Lab in collaboration with the Galician-Portuguese knowledge area from the University of A Corunna. The Galician Virtual Library (BVG, Biblioteca Virtual Galega) not only provides access to a language and Galician literature encyclopedia, but it also makes possible to read the text (either plain text or the digitization of the original pages) of the works. It is also possible to listen to or watch authors reading or reciting their works, by using audio or video files. Additionally, in order to create communication channels between each author and his/her public, several services were developed so authors could publish news, opinions, etc. on his or her web page. The public can also comment on the works, or even send the author a message. Finally, BVG is also a digital publishing place, which accommodates new authors or genres with little coverage.
